       SERGIO AGÜERO TIPS TOTTENHAM TO BE A BIG THREAT IN EUROPE THIS SEASON

According to former Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, Tottenham Hotspur are well-equipped for their Champions League campaign after their busy summer of transfer activity. Spurs prepare for their next game in the top tier of European football since the 2019/20 season, after getting a visit from French side Marseille on Wednesday night. The North London club recruited well this summer, bringing in the likes of Yves Bissouma, Ivan Perisic, and Richarlison to bolster an already strong squad. Antonio Conte now has strength in depth and competition for places, which is crucial ahead of a big season.


After an unbeaten start to the Premier League campaign this year, with four wins and two draws, Spurs currently lie in third place in the table. Retired Argentine striker Sergio Aguero has rubbished transfer reports linking him with a move to Independiente in his home country Argentina. The ex-Atletico Madrid and Manchester City attacking player debunked the transfer rumours involving him and Argentinian top flight team Independiente on Twitch livestream as he earned their officials to stop using his name to score political points.

Aguero, 33, spent a decade at Manchester City before his career at the club ended last summer. He was not given a new contract when the previous one ended at the end of last season thereby prompting him to sign a two-year deal at Barcelona with the option of another year. Sergio Aguero was linked with a number of clubs before he opted for Barcelona mainly due to the incentive of playing alongside pal Lionel Messi at club level. In the end, Aguero didn’t get his wish after Barcelona could not produce the finances required to sign Messi to a new deal as he left the club to join French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG).

Nasri told Canal+ that he received a text message from Sergio Aguero to confirm the rumours that he’s planning to retire. Ex-Arsenal and Marseille playmaker Nasri went on to express his sadness at the news as he described Aguero as a great person and a phenomenon.

Barcelona fans have not had the opportunity to watch Sergio Aguero in a competitive game since he signed for the club in the summer. The petite Argentine striker returned to Spain to sign for the Catalan giants as a free agent this summer after a decade in English football.


Sergio Aguero signed for Premier League club Manchester City from Spanish champions Atletico Madrid in 2011 and he went on to win the first of many league titles in his debut season at the club. Former Premier League champions Manchester City have reportedly identified a replacement for star striker Sergio Aguero potentially. This is according to the report coming out of the media in the United Kingdom. It was revealed that Citizens have initiated a succession plan for Sergio Aguero who’s the leading goalscorer in the history of the club.

The Sunday Telegraph reported that Manchester City have identified Benfica striker Darwin Nunez as a potential replacement for Sergio Aguero. He’s said to be one of the players under consideration at the Etihad Stadium. Nunez averaged one goal in two games for Almeria CF of Spain last season to help himself to a big money move to Portuguese giants Benfica in the summer. The former European champions paid £21.8m for the 21-year-old striker at the start of the season.
