NASRI CONFIRMS AGUERO RETIREMENT RUMOURS
Samir Nasri has stated that rumours that Sergio Aguero is planning to retire from football prematurely is true. Sergio Aguero and Samir Nasri were teammates at Manchester City for many years.
Aguero had suffered irregular heartbeat during a Barcelona game earlier this month and he was subsequently ruled out for three months as a result. The Argentine striker had to be subbed off as a result of the condition and he was immediately rushed to the hospital.
The plan was for him to undergo tests to determine if he can still play football until rumours of his plan to retire surfaced last week Saturday. He has now confirmed the news in a text message sent to Ex-Manchester City teammate Nasri.
Sergio Aguero is in his debut season at Spanish La Liga side Barcelona and he has barely played for them. The Argentine international suffered a calf injury during pre-season thus ruling him out of the first two months of this season. He had moved to the Nou Camp on a free transfer after Premier League champions Manchester City failed to extend his stay at the club beyond this summer. He left the Citizens after a decade at the club.
Aguero is a Manchester City legend who produced the biggest moment in Premier League history when he scored the winning goal to seal a 3-2 comeback victory over London team Queens Park Rangers (QPR) at home. His last-gasp winner ensured that Manchester City sealed their first Premier League title ahead of city rivals Manchester United at the end of the 2011/12 season.
