BECKHAM – THIS IS THE LAST CHANCE

Former England captain David Beckham is at a crossroad over his bid to get all the requirements so he can have an MLS soccer team.

His bid to get a team has been delayed for all sorts of reasons. Now the fate rests on the county that owns a small plot of unused land which is crucial to his plans of building a stadium.

Beckham’s top advisor Tim Leiweke told residents of Overtown district that this is the “last chance”for them to get a stadium or a MLS soccer team. The group has failed three times to get previous sites and this could be the last attempt. They spent three years in securing USD500million in private funds but the politicking has delayed the project till date.

Beckham and the group have secured most parts of the land required for the 25,000 seater project but they need the last three acre to get the stadium. The county is set to vote on the land transfer deal on June 6. If the Beckham ownership group seal the USD9million deal, they would likely be awarded the MLS 24th franchise.

Leiweke, who has worked on 19 stadiums, said this was the most difficult process he has dealt with. The group premiered a new design which it believes is the best in the league during a community forum ahead of the vote.

The Miami Marlins baseball stadium agreement which involved almost USD500million initial public investment is set to be sold to a group for lessthan its value with the funds not going back to the public coffers. Despite the assurances of the Beckham group, the county remains sceptic.

Beckham’s group recently added LA Dodgers part owner Todd Boehly as part of their plans for robust funds which would all come from private coffers. The residents are treading softly as they have heard of it before – the announced plans. In addition, they are afraid of the vehicular and human traffic that would accompany the stadium, though there have been promises of jobs for the community and a youth academy.

Sergio Aguero a Different Player under Pep Guardiola, claims Rosler

Uwe Rosler believes that Manchester city striker Sergio Aguero has been changing a lot under the regime of Pep Guardiola.

Since the former Bayern Munich and Barcelona manager came to the club in the summer, he has been in full praise of Aguero. Yet, the striker has witnessed less first-team action in the second-half of the campaign while Manchester City have also brought in Jesus from Brazilian football for close to £ 30 million. It is clear that Jesus is now the number one forward at the club.

Guardiola was recently spotted meeting Aguero and his agent at a restaurant in Manchester. This led to widespread speculation that the striker would be sold in the summer. However, it appears to have been a meeting in order to sort out differences between the two parties. Guardiola is a manager who wants all his 11 players to work as a team in order to defend.

This means that the striker has to press high up the pitch. This involves doing a lot more work than just trying to spot spaces where the opposition can be exploited. This move did not seem to favour Aguero, as he initially struggled. Now, he appears to be back to his best but it is still a sea change from the Aguero the Premier league has witnessed over the last five years.

“When you compare Aguero from last season to this season, you can see a massive change.A change in terms of courage, high-speed running and a willingness to counter-press. Plus, he still scores goals. You can see Aguero is trying to buy into the ideals of Guardiola. What he does off the ball this year, is far more than he did last year. I would never lose him – I’m a big Aguero fan,” said Rosler.

Sergio Agüero is climbing the goalscorer list of Manchester City

Despite having only been a Manchester City player for 6 seasons, Sergio Aguero has already made his way into the history-books of the Premier League club as the Spanish attacker has scored 154 goals which is enough for him to snatch the 3rd spot in the all-time goal-scorers list of Manchester City.

Tommy Johnson has secured the 2nd spot with 166 goals and Eric Brook is at the top with 177 goals but taking into consideration the fact that Sergio Aguero only needed around 5 years to reach this feat is extremely impressive as Eric Brook took 13 years of performing with Manchester City to score all of his goals while Aguero is reaching that task in less than half of that period of time.

The 28 year old attacker is consistently scoring at least 23 goals in each season for Manchester City and at this pace, by the end of the season he should be able to reach the 2nd place of the all-time goal-scoring list.

The €45 million that Manchester City spent in signing Sergio Aguero back on 2011 has proven to be one of the best signings in the history of the Premier League as the Argentinean attacker is a player that manages to consistently score goals in each season as well as managing to avoid injuries.

It doesn’t come as a surprise to find out that Aguero is regularly being targeted by top clubs and managers that want to secure the services of the Argentinean player who appears to be able to perform at an extremely high level despite being in either the Spanish League with Athletic Madrid or in the English League, the Premier League with his current club Manchester City.

Even though Aguero is frequently being offered the chance to perform in different clubs with distinct teams, neither Manchester City nor Aguero himself appear to be interested in ending their relationship which is good news for the Premier League club as they have in their control, one of the most talented players in the world and it’s even better for Aguero as he is climbing his way into the history-books of a club that can not only compete to win the Premier League but also the Champions League.

BENITEZ ANGRY AT NEWCASTLE TICKETS’ ALLOCATION

Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez has criticized hosts Hull City for tickets’ allocation to them as they are poised to meet in the EFL Cup on Tuesday.

The English Championship side are to play Hull at KCOM Stadium for a chance to reach a cup semi final in over a decade.

The Magpies had their request for more tickets thrown out even as Hull are not sure the stadium would be filled during the game. Of the total capacity of over 25,000 only 2474 were allocated to Newcastle United,

“I would like to see as many of our fans as we can have there, but I can’t control the policy they decide. Football now with a lot of TV has to be more for the fans going to the stadium, enjoying it and creating an atmosphere that will be good for the game,” the former Liverpool manager said.

Benitez added that if there was an opportunity to get more fans to see a game, Hull should have done so.

“You see half the stadiums empty in Spain or 20 percent occupied in Italy, and here when you have an opportunity and you don’t do that. But you can do nothing,” Benitez bemoaned, obviously frustrated.

Newcastle would have loved more fans to support them as they dream of a cup semi final since their 4-1 loss to Manchester United in the FA Cup in 2005. There is excitement at Tyneside as the fans dream, even though a promotion to top flight English football remains priority.

“It is a motivation for us to play against a Premier League team. They are at home, so they have a bit of an advantage, but we need to go and show our levels and try and reach the semi final,” Bnitez added.

AGUERO TALKS BARCELONA TRIUMPH

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has talked about the triumph over Barcelona at the Etihad this Tuesday.

Both sides meet in one of the group games in the Champions League and the Sky Blues got their revenge after losing to the Catalan side two weeks ago. Aguero disclosed what City did differently, how he felt when he was left out of the encounter a fortnight ago, and about the bust-up involving his friend and compatriot Lionel Messi in the tunnel after the game.

“They’re a difficult team, obviously. If you give them the time and the space to think, they will beat you. You always have to respect Barca and any team would respect that, but we had to pretend that it wasn’t Barca and try to play how we know, and win, which was the most important thing,” Aguero disclosed.

“I’ve experienced many different important nights, and this was another one that not only me but the whole team enjoyed. We also could feel the support from the fans and that was important for our confidence. It was a nice game for the memories,” the Argentine added.

Barcelona had embarrassed Man City at the Nou Camp, defeating them 4-0, but City revenged 3-1 at the Etihad. Messi scored the opener, but Ilkay Gundogan double strikes in both the first half and second, and a free kick from Kevin De Bruyne sealed the victory.

Messi exchanged words with the City team in the tunnel after the game, after having spoken to the referee angrily during the recess. UEFA have confirmed that since the incidences were not recorded in the match report, Messi would not be charged. Aguero played the role of the peacemaker but revealed that Messi was “not very happy” with the loss and did not want to talk about it.

On being left out at the Nou Camp, Aguero said he respected the manager’s decision, calling it “a tactical thing.”

Pep Guardiola Demands Even More from Aguero

The season may only be entering into October, but Sergio Aguero has already taken his season’s tally to a whopping 11 goals after scoring a brace in the win over Swansea on Saturday.

Manager Pep Guardiola, though, said that the player was capable of delivering even more, and he has challenged the Argentine to do so. Aguero has been a constant goal scoring threat for Manchester City since his move from Atletico Madrid in 2011. One of his few problems has been injuries and he seems to have improved tremendously in that aspect.

Once fully fit, there are few things in the world that can prevent the Argentine from scoring. He has proved this so far after being a regular source of goals whenever he has been called upon. Swansea were beaten 3-1, but it could have been more. The same applies for Aguero, although the player has scored a brace, according to Guardiola. Just like Jose Mourinho at United, Guardiola is thought be a highly demanding manager and this has often seemed to wear players out. City fans will be hoping that it is not the case. Instead, they would prefer a transformation from Aguero upon the arrival of Guardiola just like in the case of Lionel Messi.

“Congratulations of course for his first goal, for the personality for the penalty, a lot of goals in the games.I’m so happy for him, but he knows that I want more, he can play better, he can make other things that are going to help us. I will try, I will try to help him to develop his abilities as a football player.[I want him] to be involved in our game, in our process, and keep the ball, and help us,” said Guardiola, whose City have been able to claim 10 wins from 10 so far.

Sergio Aguero, a favorite to win the Golden Boot

The Premier League is quickly becoming the center of attention of the football world as more popular figures are getting into the top tier English competition.

ZlatanIbrahimovic and Paul Pogba are just a few of the more well-known players that have recently joined the Premier League, both of them were freshly acquired by Manchester United as more and more stars are being added by English clubs.

With the likes of: Harry Kane, Diego Costa, Alexis Sanchez, Sergio Aguero, Olivier Giroud, Eden Hazard, David Silva, ZlatanIbrahimovic, Paul Pogba and many other exciting players, it’s easy to see why the Premier League is being considered as one of the toughest leagues in the world and these recent signings will only make it even more electrifying.

Winning the Premier League will be even harder than it was before with all of these new arrivals and something else that is expected to be more difficult to achieve are the individual titles that the players receive at the end of the season.

Manchester City’s Sergio Aguerois one of the favorites of snatching the Golden Boot award for the approaching season of 2016-17. The Argentine attacker claimed that award back in May of 2015 and a number of football pundits are predicting that he is going to win it once again.

Phil Thompson, Charlie Nicholas, Matt Le Tissier, Paul Merson and JameRedknapp are pundits that voice their thoughts, make predictions as they work in a weekly television program on Sky Sports known as: ‘’Soccer Saturday’’ and all of those pundits have backed Sergio Aguero to win the Golden Boot award of the 2016-17 Premier League season.

The arrival of Pep Guardiola is expected to help out Sergio Aguero in scoring even more goals and this is one of the major reasons of why the Argentine attacker is expected to break his goal-scoring record in a single season and once again become the top goal-scorer of the Premier League.

Aguero Undeniably The Best Argentine Striker

The Argentine player Sergio Aguero, who plays as a striker for Manchester City is the youngest footballer to have debuted in the Argentine Primera Division.

He has indeed broken the record of Diego Maradona, which he had established in the year 1976. Aguero is known as the best strikers with a great ability, vision and intelligence. Through these skills, he has shown his best performances so far.

Aguero’s sibling Gaston Del Castillo is all geared up to play in Series A in the next season with Crotone who has been promoted newly. The club is making all the preparations for their 1st campaign and has signed Gaston. The 19 year old made his debut in April for the Argentina club.

The latest comparison of Sergio Diaz with Aguero has made the Paraguayan starlet more popular than before. Diaz is quite excited to move to Real Madrid. He is the first player from Paraguay who would be playing for the European Champions. He has been compared with Sergio Aguero from his city for his skills and he comes across as the most promising footballers.

Lionel Messi, who has been regarded as the finest players in the football world has always shown respect and appreciated Aguero immensely for his playing skills. Messi and Aguero have been best of friends. The international captain strongly believes that this Argentine striker acquires immense strength and willpower and also known for his excellent work ethic. As Messi has decided to quit the national football team which has shocked the entire world, Aguero may follow his footsteps. The Aguero’s father said that Sergio may also retire if Messi does so leaving room for fresh players. Both players are said to have completed the cycle and it’s time for the next generation to take over. The fan followers are Aguero being eagerly waiting to know if the striker will at all get tired or continue playing for his team.

Joe Cole recently signed for Tampa Bay Rowdies

Former Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole recently signed for Tampa Bay Rowdies, thus bringing his career in England to an end.

Regarded as one of the talented players of his generation in the England national team, Cole’s demise from the top levels of the game has been surprising. He has won the Premier league and FA Cup trophies three times in his career aside from being the runners up in the Champions League 2007-08 season. However, injuries have prevented him from making a major impact since the 2008-09 season. Since leaving Chelsea at the end of the 2009-10 campaign, Cole has played for Liverpool, Lille, West Ham, Aston Villa, and Coventry City.

He has just left League One outfit Coventry City to join the North American leagues. Tampa Bay Rowdies are not part of the MLS. Hence, Cole will be playing in one division lower than the likes of his former England teammates Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard, who are part of MLS clubs. Cole made 22 appearances for Coventry City and scored two goals.

He claims that he is joining Tampa Bay Rowdies to start a new chapter in his career which may hopefully yield some trophies. Cole revealed that he made the decision to join Tampa Bay in just two days after witnessing the facilities.

“I’d just like to thank everyone for the warm welcome, my family and I are excited to be here. I started talking with Bill [Edwards] and Stu [Stuart Campbell] about six months ago. I came to a game and everyone was just so welcoming.I want to be here for the start of something big. I want to win championships. There’s nothing bigger in football that winning. The aim is to win championships. That’s the plan,” said Cole. Rowdies head coach Stuart Campbell expressed his delight at being able to sign a player like Cole.

Robin Van Persie purchase Finally found to be Fruitful

When Robin Van Persie was signed up to Manchester United for a whopping cool 22 million pounds back in 2012, there were a lot of eyebrows raised as fans questioned whether or not this was a good decision.

Why were so many people prone to disbelief over the decision to sing him? As of recently, the striker was very injury prone and had a significant knee injury that could easily hinder his performance.

This has been easily related to Zlatan Ibrahimovic who a lot of people are claiming could be the same person on terms of deals and being signed at ill-advised times. A lot of questions came up when Persie was signed, such as “why would they sign someone who is so old?” It’s definitely a valid question and as you age, your body is far more prone to knee injuries than healthy young players.

Knee injuries are very rampant in this industry and even some of the youngest and healthiest players face injuries on the knee they can’t avoid. This puts players back months of progression. Here’s the real question though, why should United sign someone who is so injury prone and old that they might only get exactly one season out of him? He’s also going to cost a lot in wages and many people just don’t feel that he’s worth it.

However, when we look at Zlatan’s track record, he has an impressive win streak as he has gone on to win the league almost every single year he played. He won the league from 2003 to 2010 and then from 2013 to 2016. Winning 11 league titles in four different countries is definitely no joke and no small feat. So while there are some cons to signing Ibrahimovic, there are definitely some pros as well but the management well just have to weigh out those pros and those cons.
