Barcelona signed Sergio Aguero on a free transfer this summer after his contract with Premier League champions Manchester City ended at the end of last season. The Argentine international joined Manchester City from Spanish team Atletico Madrid in 2011 and he went on to become a legend at the Etihad Stadium.

Aguero produced his biggest moment in a Manchester City when he scored the winning goal in a 3-2 win at home to London team Queens Park Rangers (QPR) to clinch the Premier League title for his team during his first season in English football. During his time at Manchester City, Sergio Aguero became the all-time leading goalscorer. His final game for the club was in the Champions League final loss to Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Sergio Aguero came off the bench during that game against Chelsea to represent Manchester City for the final time but he could not prevent the Citizens from ending on the wrong side of the scoreline. German forward Kai Havertz scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win for Chelsea off the assist from Mason Mount.

Several teams wanted to sign Aguero on a free transfer this summer but the lure of playing for Barcelona and alongside pal Lionel Messi was too good to turn down. In the end, he won’t be able to play with Messi at club level after he left to sign for French club Paris Saint Germain (PSG) with Barcelona unable to re-sign him.
